target-markets-1This is part 1 of multi-part MLM success article series, where you'll have learned two very very important things when it comes to your MLM / network marketing success: Who are really the hottest prospects to market to and recruit for your business and How to easily find & attract them to you using the web! Keep on reading to find out more....

Market to the Right People Who ALREADY Have a Desire to Buy

One of the first steps of your MLM Success and in marketing a product, service, opportunity, a system or anything else is to clearly define your MLM Target Market or Target Audience - what type of people will you be targeting with your ads and other marketing pieces.

I'm still surprised to see so many MLM reps and networkers fail on this very first step, before they even begin with their businesses.

Based on my experiences and interactions with other networkers across the world, I can almost accurately say that about 80% of them have only 1 target market – anyone and everything with a heart beat! Big mistake!

As Mike Dillard, one of my heroes, points out in his excellent Magnetic Sponsoring book: "You can't give away, let alone sell a big and tasty steak to a vegetarian!"

Yet, so many people in this industry begin and end up "selling steaks to vegetarians".

The common belief people have about MLM & network marketing business like Telme is that this business is all about making lists of friends, uncles and just anyone else who you know and who "might be interested", and then start calling them up one by one, and inviting them to some live weekly presentations, seminars, home meetings and fancy hotel rooms.

Wrong, very wrong.

4 Types of People Who Are Ready to Buy Your MLM Business Opportunity

As a distributor of your MLM/Network marketing company, you actually have at least 7 hot and responsive target markets, out of which 4 are potential business builders. The other 3 are end-consumers (product or service users), but I'll focus on business builders in this article.

Important: Please note that each one of your markets has different needs, problems, wants and dreams, which is why each of them requires completely different marketing approach. Covering all this would go far beyond the scope of this article, but if you would like to learn more, go ahead and pick up Mike Dillard's MLM Traffic Formula course.

So, here are the best types of prospects for new business builders:

Target market #1: People who are already highly interested in becoming distributors of your current company

These are probably the hottest possible prospects and the first market to go after with your business. Here are a few reasons why these people are the best and easiest prospects to go after and sponsor your MLM/Network marketing business:

  1. They already know about your company
  2. They’re already interested at some level in your business
  3. They’re searching for a reason to justify their involvement in your business
  4. They’re already emotionally interested in “buying” your opportunity (very important) and are now searching for information that will justify their buying decision logically

Plus, there’s another important reason: If your company is like Telme that is relatively new on the markets (less than 4 years), buying ads that target to these people are normally dirt-cheap and inexpensive in comparison to advertising to other Target Markets!

For example in my case, 80% of all Telme distributors not belonging to our team DON’T HAVE a CLUE about online marketing and advertising.

Not only that, but most of those 20% of people who do step "into the ad space" and start advertising, normally quickly step "out of the ad space" because they eventually end up loosing money.

This simply means there’s actually no real competition is the ad space, which means ads are dirt-cheap to buy. Again, this is in my case where I and my team are building our business with Telme.

People looking for more info on your company are the HOTTEST prospects possible because what they’re really searching is one of the three things below:

  1. The best team/leader to work with, or
  2. A team with a marketing system that gets results, or
  3. A team with great training and support!

BINGO!

Knowing this, your "job" is to offer to them exactly what they want: yourself, your team and your team's marketing system.

Here's another "insider" tip.

The ads my team uses (available to anyone on my team) that are written, designed and tested for our team's Target Market #1 (People looking to start Telme business), advertise information "how to be successful with Telme", rather than our actual Telme business.

This information comes in the form of email lessons and info products which are designed to "sell" our Telme opportunity. (If you've read Magnetic Sposoring book, you already know that most people would rather learn how to do something than actually do it!)

In essence, we're advertising the "How to" information in the front-end with our ads and all this "How to" information then advertises and sells our team's high-ticket item -- which is our marketing system and our Telme opportunity. You should do the same.

You don’t know this yet, but you’ll soon realize that anyone looking to start a business with your current company will, as Mike Dillard says in his MLM Traffic Formula course, "eat that kind of information up and lick the place when they’re done!"

The best of all, 97% of your competition (other distributors in your company) are not going to be smart enough to advertise that kind of "How to" information instead of their opportunites, comp plans and company's record-breaking growth!  BINGO!

Now, if you don’t completely understand why advertising "How to" information in the front-end is so much more powerful, effective and profitable than advertising your actual business or opportunity (like everyone else is doing), that’s ok.

Just ask your team leaders about this subject. Or if you would like to learn more about this, Magnetic Sponsoring and MLM Traffic Formula are probably the best books/courses to start with.

Target market #2: MLM opportunity seekers

These are all the people who are already looking to start specifically a MLM/Network marketing based business. These prospects are also very HOT, because:

  1. they are ready to buy when they find a leader or a team of leaders with a system that gets results
  2. they already know what MLM is, how it works and what are its benefits
  3. they (most likely) already posses some knowledge, business-building skills (marketnig, advertising, lead generation, etc) and experiences from their past MLM ventures.
  4. they (most likely) have a rolodex/list of contacts who they can bring into your business overnight
  5. hey won't bother you with stupid common objections like "Is this one of those pyramind schemes" or "People at the top make all the money", etc.

Again, very common mistake made by most mlm reps and networkers is that they're advertising and marketing to these people their super-growing companies, booming industry, amazing comp plans, product features, etc. This is not something what target market #2 really wants.

What folks from Target market #2 are really searching for on the subconscious level is one or more of the 3 things below:

  1. The best team/leader to work with, or
  2. A team with a marketing system that gets results, or
  3. A team with great training and support!

These are 3 magnets that will attract these people to you and this is what you need to advertise and market to Target market #2.

That's it for now. Stay tuned for Part 2 of this article series where you'll learn more about the other 2 target markets, and How to find and attract them each one of these 4 target markets to you.

To your success,

Klemen Struc
